Web Designer & Developer

The opportunity

Aven Media is a Sweden-based creative and strategic communications company with a global outlook. We work across branding, digital media, storytelling, communication strategy and production. We are building our professional team in Uganda and are looking for people who value creative quality, good relationships and reliable delivery.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design user journeys, responsive layouts and effective landing pages.
• Develop and maintain client websites using Wix, WordPress, Webflow or suitable code-based solutions.
• Build accessible, mobile-friendly interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript or relevant frameworks.
• Integrate application forms, CMS functionality, analytics and client tools as required.
• Test functionality and resolve usability, browser, performance and technical issues.
• Work with content, design and marketing colleagues to translate briefs into live websites.

Qualifications & experience

• Relevant training or practical experience in web design or development.
• At least three years of experience preferred, or evidence of comparable completed work.
• A strong portfolio of real websites with a clear description of your contribution.
• Knowledge of responsive design, UI/UX, CMS platforms, accessibility and basic SEO.
• Good communication, debugging and delivery skills.

Expected results

• Completed and tested client websites.
• Clear handover documentation and maintained site quality.
