Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Operations Manager will be responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of all moving, relocation, and storage operations. The role ensures the efficient, safe, and cost-effective delivery of residential, corporate, storage, and international relocation services while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The Operations Manager will drive operational excellence through effective resource planning, team leadership, performance management, cost control, compliance with safety and quality standards, and continuous process improvement to support the Company's strategic objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operations Planning and Execution.

 Plan, schedule, and oversee daily moving and storage operations.

 Allocate crews, vehicles, equipment, and packing materials efficiently.

 Ensure end-to-end execution of jobs: packing, loading, transportation, unloading, and setup.

 Monitor live jobs, resolve operational issues, and ensure timely completion.

2. Storage Operations Management

 Oversee receiving, storage, inventory control, security, and dispatch of stored goods.

 Ensure accurate inventory records and strict warehouse discipline.

 Coordinate storage inspections, client visits, and goods release.

3. Cross department Coordination

 Translate sales surveys and client requirements into clear operational instructions.

 Work closely with Sales, Client Service, and Finance to ensure smooth handovers.

 Proactively identify operational risks and prevent service failures

4. Quality, Safety, and Compliance

 Enforce safety standards, SOPs, and company policies across all operations.

 Ensure proper handling of high-value, fragile, and sensitive items.

 Investigate damages, losses, accidents, and complaints.

 Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.

People Leadership and Performance Management of Movers

 Lead, supervise, and motivate drivers, movers, and operations staff.

 Ensure adequate staffing levels and effective labour deployment.

 Enforce discipline, professionalism, and customer-focused behaviour.

 Coach, train, and evaluate staff performance using agreed KPIs.

6. Cost control, fleet and vendor management

 Monitor and control operational costs (fuel, overtime, equipment use).

 Coordinate vehicle maintenance, breakdown recovery, and fleet uptime.

 Liaise with transporters, suppliers, and international agents.

 Support procurement by ensuring efficient use of resources and suppliers.

7. Documentation, Reporting and Continuous Improvements

 Ensure accurate job documentation, delivery notes, and operational records.

 Track and report operational KPIs, incidents, and performance trends.

 Develop, update, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

 Drive operational improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.

 Minimum of four (4) years' experience in an operations role within a fast-paced logistics, transportation, relocation, or other operations-driven environment.

 Sound understanding of the moving and relocation industry, including operational planning, fleet coordination, and service delivery.

 Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
