Job Description
JOB TITLE MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN NATURE OF JOB FULL TIME INDUSTRY MANUFACTURING SALARY KSHS. 35,000-50,000 JOB LOCATION RUIRU
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
  • Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in production machinery.
  • Ensure all equipment is operating efficiently and safely.
  • Support installation and commissioning of new machinery.

Troubleshooting & Repairs
  • Identify mechanical problems and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
  • Repair or replace defective machine parts and components.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of recurring mechanical failures.

Equipment Monitoring & Performance
  • Monitor machine performance and report abnormalities.
  • Ensure proper lubrication, alignment, and calibration of equipment.
  • Maintain machinery in optimal working condition.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records.
  • Record all repairs, parts replaced, and maintenance activities.
  • Prepare reports on machine performance and downtime incidents.
  • Update maintenance schedules and work orders.

Safety & Compliance
  • Adhere to workplace safety standards and procedures.
  • Ensure proper use of tools and protective equipment.
  • Support compliance with industrial safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance systems.
  • Proven experience in mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good technical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
