JOB TITLE ELECTRO-MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Installation, Maintenance & Optimization

· System Installation: Install, assemble, and calibrate complex electro-mechanical systems, including AC/DC motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), sensors, actuators, and control units.

· Preventive Maintenance (PM): Execute scheduled PM routines to identify wear and tear, conduct precision adjustments, and replace aging components to minimize unscheduled downtime.

· Mechanical Alignment: Service, align, and replace power transmission components such as gearboxes, sprockets, chains, belts, bearings, and pneumatic/hydraulic actuators.

· Upgrades & Retrofits: Assist in executing system hardware and software upgrades to enhance machinery performance, safety, and operational capacity.

Diagnostics & Troubleshooting

· Root Cause Analysis: Rapidly diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, electronic, and hydraulic failures on production machinery.

· PLC & Control Systems: Interact with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and automated control software to troubleshoot faults, monitor I/O status, adjust parameters, and reset systems.

· Technical Blueprinting: Interpret complex electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, ladder logic, hydraulic circuit diagrams, and structural blueprints.

· Precision Measurement: Proficiently use diagnostic equipment (e.g., digital multimeters, oscilloscopes) and precision tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, dial indicators) to assess tolerances and electrical integrity.

Testing, Quality & Compliance

· Calibration & Testing: Perform functional testing and precision calibrations on equipment post-repair to verify full operational readiness and accuracy.

· Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities conform to local regulations (OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, or local equivalents), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, and machine-guarding safety standards.

· Workplace Standards: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment (5S principles) in maintenance areas and across the factory floor.

Documentation & Collaboration

· Logs & Records: Accurately log maintenance activities, work orders, spare part usages, equipment history, and root-cause findings within the Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

· Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate effectively with electrical engineers, mechanical designers, external contractors, and operations personnel during new machinery installations and integration projects.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

· Diploma in Electromechanical Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Electronics

· 3 to 5 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment (FMCG, preferred)

· Proficiency in electrical diagnostics and mechanical assembly

· Familiarity with PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Delta), motor controllers, and sensors

· Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and mechanical schematics

· Skilled in using testing equipment and mechanical hand tools

· Basic welding ability on Stainless steel, Mild steel and cast iron

· Knowledge of safety procedures and basic electrical code compliance
