Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintain accurate accounting records and post all financial transactions in the accounting system.

2. Perform daily, weekly and monthly bank reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.

3. Manage accounts payable, process supplier invoices, reconcile supplier statements and ensure timely payments.

4. Prepare and file all statutory returns.

5. Prepare weekly treasury reports and initiate payments through internet banking.

6. Liaise with banks on account opening, mandates, online banking, confirmations and other banking correspondence.

7. Support month-end and year-end closing activities including audit.

8. Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions.

9. Maintain proper filing of financial records and supporting documentation.

10. Undertake any other duties assigned by the supervisor.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• 100% statutory returns filed accurately and on time.

• Monthly bank reconciliations completed by the 3rd working day.

• Supplier reconciliations completed monthly.

• Payments processed accurately within approved timelines.

• Zero unexplained unreconciled bank items over 30 days.

• Monthly management reports submitted by the 4th working day.

• Successful completion of annual external audits with minimal audit adjustments.


Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field & CPA Foundation level.

• Minimum of 1 year accounting experience; experience in investment, financial services or group accounting is an added advantage.

• Proficiency in Zoho Books or similar ERP/accounting systems.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

• Good understanding of IFRS, Kenyan tax legislation and financial controls.

• Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills.

• High integrity, attention to detail and ability to work independently.
