Assistant Accountant

To provide accounting and administrative support to the finance department by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, assisting with financial reporting, and ensuring that the organisation's financial activities are properly documented and controlled.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and maintaining financial records and accounting documents.
• Capture and process supplier invoices, customer receipts and payment transactions.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable management.
• Perform bank, supplier and customer account reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate filing of financial records and supporting documents.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and management accounts.
• Monitor petty cash transactions and maintain petty cash records.
• Assist with payroll preparation and statutory payment records.
• Follow up on outstanding customer payments and supplier accounts.
• Assist with budgeting, cash flow monitoring and expenditure tracking.
• Ensure accurate data capturing in the company's accounting or ERP system.
• Support internal and external audits by providing requested financial information.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and applicable accounting regulations.
• Perform other finance-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
