Job Description

Department: Housekeeping

Reports To: Housekeeping Manager


Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Storekeeper to oversee the receipt, storage, issuance, and record-keeping of goods and supplies within our organization. The successful candidate will ensure accurate inventory management, maintain proper storage conditions, and facilitate efficient stock movement to support smooth day-to-day operations.


Key Responsibilities

Purchasing & Procurement

• Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and initiate purchase requisitions when reorder levels are reached.

• Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company procurement procedures.

• Verify purchased goods against purchase orders and supplier invoices upon receipt.

Receiving & Inspection

• Receive and inspect incoming goods, ensuring quantities and specifications match delivery notes and purchase orders.

• Check items for quality, damages, or discrepancies and report any issues promptly.

• Receive supplier invoices and forward them to the relevant department for processing.

Storage & Inventory Control

• Organize and store inventory systematically for easy identification and retrieval.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly store environment.

• Apply appropriate stock rotation methods such as First-In, First-Out (FIFO).

• Monitor inventory levels and notify management when stock reaches reorder levels.

• Participate in regular stock counts and assist in reconciling inventory discrepancies.

Issuance & Distribution

• Issue stock only against approved requisitions.

• Maintain accurate records of all stock issued, including quantities, dates, and recipients.

• Ensure only authorized personnel receive inventory items.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate documentation for all stock movements, including receipts, issues, and returns.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, inventory control procedures, and safety standards.

• Support internal and external audits by providing accurate inventory records and physical verification of stock.

General Responsibilities

• Safeguard inventory against theft, loss, or damage.

• Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely availability of stock.

• Perform any other store-related duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications

• Diploma in Storekeeping, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field.

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a storekeeping, warehouse, or inventory management role within the hospitality industry.

• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse operations.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

• Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• High level of integrity and accountability when handling company assets.

• Physically fit and able to lift, carry, and organize stock.


Added Advantage

• Experience using QuickBooks.


Other Requirements

• Applicants should be 30 years of age or older, demonstrating maturity and a strong sense of responsibility.

• Must reside in Ruaka, Gachie, Banana, or the surrounding areas to facilitate reliable commuting.


Compensation & Benefits

• Gross Salary: KES 52,000 per month.

• Additional Benefits

• Working Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday to Sunday (rotational schedule with a day off weekly.
