The Senior Reinsurance Analyst must be self-motivated and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. This individual must be a logical thinker, pro-active and responsible person with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Senior Reinsurance Analyst is responsible for monitoring the group’s reinsurance risk exposure within all territories that Guardian Group P&C operates through the careful placement of reinsurance treaties along with the effective governance and control regarding reinsurance terms and conditions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reinsurance Treaty Administration
- Review and evaluate all treaty renewal information and ensure accuracy and complete relevant analysis in line with proposed enhancements to the treaties.
- Analyze reinsurance renewal terms and set up/maintain relevant reinsurance WebStar specifications
- Review Cover Notes and ensure in alignment with expectations.
- Monitor and analyse information related to Inward Treaty arrangements.
- Coordinate with international reinsurance brokers on queries, requests or concerns regarding the treaties.
- 2. Reinsurance and Underwriting Controls/Reporting
- Monitor the various classes of business to ensure adherence to reinsurance treaty terms and conditions and company guidelines.
- Review and assess relevant monthly and quarterly reinsurance reports.
- Assist Manager – Reinsurance with the review and roll out of all reinsurance facilities.
- Manage queries from operations on reinsurance related transactions and coordinate WebStar set up.
- 3. Reinsurance Claims Administration
- Validate large loss claims transactions for reinsurance processing accuracy
- Coordinate with internal claims and finance teams and international reinsurance brokers in relation to reporting and recoveries on large treaty claims
- Authorize Manual Reinsurance transactions on claims
- Oversight/Review of reinsurance claims report submissions to international reinsurance brokers
- 4. External and Regulatory Reporting
- Coordinate responses for requested information by rating agencies, regulators and auditors.
- Create ad-hoc reinsurance reports, presentations and reinsurance program summaries.
- 5. Catastrophe Claims Administration
- Review/validate major loss/hurricane updates for submissions
- Coordination of collection of all cash call funds with international reinsurance brokers
- Manage queries from internal claims and finance teams in relation to reinsurance recoveries for major losses/hurricanes
- Monthly oversight/review of prepared RA102 forms to be submitted to finance for journalizing of major loss/hurricane claims.
6. Any other duties assigned by the Reinsurance Manager.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 1st Degree in a business-related discipline or any equivalent qualification
- 5 CXC/CSEC passes including Mathematics and English Language
- 2 A’ Level/CAPE passes
- Principles of Reinsurance certificate
- Minimum of 5 years in General Insurance
- Minimum of 3 years in a similar position
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
As a regulated entity with obligations under the Know Your Employee guidelines, a Certificate of Character is required.
