Job Description

Key Responsibilities

BOQ & Tender Preparation:

- Prepare Bills of Quantities for electric fencing, shade netting, razor wire, mesh, installation, gate fabrication/automation, etc.

- Draft tender documents, including technical specifications and cost schedules.

Cost Estimation & Control:

- Estimate material, labor, and equipment costs based on site surveys and design specifications.

- Monitor and control project budgets and expenditures to ensure profitability and value-for-money.

Procurement & Contract Administration:

- Support procurement of materials and subcontractors.

- Manage contracts, variations, claims, payment schedules, and final account closures.

Cost Reporting & Forecasting:

- Regularly prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial assessments for management review.

Site Visits & Stakeholder Coordination:

-Conduct site inspections to verify work progress and compliance with specifications.

- Coordinate with architects, engineers, project teams, and clients for cost-related issues and approvals.

Risk Management & Value Engineering:

- Identify cost risks, propose cost-effective solutions, and implement value-engineering measures.

- Assess financial implications of design or scope changes.


Qualifications & Experience

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying,

Construction Management, or related field.

At least 2–4 years of experience in quantity surveying, ideally in security/infrastructure fencing, construction, or related civil works.

Proficient with cost-estimating software and MS Office tools.


Technical & Soft Skills

Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and report-writing abilities.

Familiarity with Kenyan construction regulations, tender procedures, and standards.

Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work under pressure/deadlines.

Collaborative team player with capacity to lead cost-related discussions.
