JOB TITLE ORACLE APPS DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR NATURE OF JOB FULL TIME INDUSTRY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) SALARY KSHS. 100,000 JOB LOCATION WESTLANDS
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform sizing, installation, configuration, upgrade, and maintenance of Oracle E- Business Suite applications and Oracle databases.
  • Configure and manage backup and recovery solutions for Oracle applications and databases.
  • Manage database and application backups using file system backups and RMAN tools.
  • Carry out cloning of Oracle E-Business Suite application and database environments for testing, development, and production purposes.
  • Apply Oracle application and database patches, updates, and security fixes in line with best practices.
  • Monitor and optimize Oracle application and database performance through tuning and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues raised by users and clients within agreed service timelines.
  • Monitor system uptime, availability, and overall health to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Conduct capacity planning and space management on operating systems and database environments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance and health checks on Oracle applications and databases.
  • Execute core database administration tasks including user management, database monitoring, and performance analysis.
  • Develop and customize reports within Oracle Applications to support business operations and reporting needs.
  • Conduct security vulnerability assessments and implement remediation measures on Oracle application and database servers.
  • Support migration of Oracle applications and databases to new operating systems and environments as required by clients.
  • Develop and maintain shell scripts to automate routine system administration tasks such as startup, shutdown, monitoring, and backup processes.
  • Contribute innovative ideas towards the development and improvement of products, services, and internal programs.
  • Travel to client sites for system implementation, support, maintenance, and other business-related activities.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation for assignments, maintenance activities, and client engagements.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and professional support services.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or a relevant subject from a recognized university or Institution.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Oracle Apps Database Administration in the said activities.
  • Oracle Certified Professional OCP(19c) - Database Administrator from Oracle University
  • Oracle Certified Professional OCP(11g) - Database Administrator from Oracle University
  • Oracle Apps R12 and 11i Install Patches, Maintenance & Apps System administration
  • Proficient in Linux.
  • Proficient in Oracle Database 11g - 19C
