Job Description

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day garage operations across all service bays.
  • Ensure efficient scheduling and timely completion of repairs.
  • Monitor workshop productivity and turnaround times.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control.

Customer Experience

  • Deliver an outstanding customer experience from vehicle check-in to collection.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure transparency in repair approvals and quotations.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and motivate technicians and support staff.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.

Parts & Inventory

  • Manage procurement of spare parts and consumables.
  • Develop reliable supplier relationships, including imported parts.
  • Ensure accurate inventory control and stock management.

Business Development

  • Drive growth of the drive-in service business.
  • Identify opportunities to increase workshop utilization and revenue.
  • Build relationships with fleet and corporate customers.

Financial Performance

  • Monitor labour efficiency, gross margins, and operational costs.
  • Manage workshop budgets and resource allocation.
  • Ensure profitability while maintaining service quality.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workshop.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Promote safe work practices across the team.

Technology & Reporting

  • Utilize digital tools to manage workshop operations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Prepare regular operational and performance reports for management.

QualificationsRequired

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Experience managing an automotive workshop, service centre, or garage.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational ability.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Computer literacy and comfort using digital systems.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a technology-enabled service environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory and procurement management.
  • Experience managing fleet maintenance operations.
  • Understanding of computerized diagnostics and modern automotive repair processes.
