UNDERGROUND MINING GENERAL FOREMAN

• Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate daily operational activities to ensure production and project targets are achieved.

Verify that work standards, quality requirements and operational objectives are consistently achieved.

• Monitor workplace productivity and ensure efficient use of resources
• Ensure work is executed according to approved plans, schedules

Identify operational constraints and develop practical solutions to improve performance.

• Monitor production output and operational performance against approved targets

Drive operational excellence and performance improvement initiatives.

• Ensure quality standards and operational controls are maintained
• Requirements
• Blasting Certificate & Shift Supervisor/Foreman certificate
• Minimum 10-15 years’ experience in Shaft sinking mining environment
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Shift foreman/Shift boss
• supervisor/foreman certificate
• Postgraduate qualification – advantageous
• Driver’s License, First Aid & CPR certificate
• Experience in workforce development, mentoring and skills transfer
• Extensive experience in vertical sinking construction
• Proven experience managing large-scale projects and working in African mining environments
