- Job Summary
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is seeking a Technical Advisor I – Cooperative Development to provide technical guidance and support in programme design and implementation.
The successful candidate will support the strengthening of cooperatives and producer organizations by promoting inclusive, sustainable, and effective cooperative development approaches that improve livelihoods and economic opportunities.
- Key Responsibilities
Provide technical advice and support on cooperative development strategies, tools, and best practices.
Support programme teams and partners in strengthening cooperative structures and governance systems.
Develop approaches that improve organizational capacity, sustainability, and member participation.
Support the design and implementation of cooperative development programmes.
Provide technical assistance through training, coaching, and mentoring of partners and producer organizations.
Support capacity building initiatives for cooperative leaders and community groups.
Contribute to proposal development, concept notes, and programme strategies.
Collect, analyse, and use programme data to improve interventions.
Support monitoring, learning, documentation, and sharing of best practices.
Build relationships with government institutions, private sector actors, and development partners.
Ensure quality implementation and compliance with CRS standards.
- Requirements
- Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Cooperative Development, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Rural Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience in cooperative strengthening, producer organizations, and community-based development programmes.
Knowledge of cooperative governance, organizational capacity building, and livelihood improvement approaches.
Experience working with communities, partners, and development programmes is an added advantage.

Strong knowledge of cooperative development approaches.
Good project design and implementation skills.
Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and training skills.
Ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong report writing and documentation skills.
