Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Operate and supervise the computerized batching plant control system to produce concrete in line with approved mix designs and production schedules.
- Conduct daily pre-start inspections of the batching plant, ensuring all equipment and systems are operational before production begins.
- Monitor batching accuracy, material proportions, and production quality to ensure compliance with Company standards.
- Coordinate concrete loading and discharge operations with the loading team to ensure efficient and accurate delivery.
- Monitor plant performance and promptly report equipment faults, quality concerns, material shortages, or operational issues.
- Maintain the batching plant, control room, and surrounding work areas in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
- Maintain accurate production records, batch tickets, and daily operational logs.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor Batching Plant Assistants and junior operators to improve their technical skills and operational performance.
- Enforce compliance with all Company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Work closely with the Quality Control team to support concrete testing, quality assurance, and product compliance.
- Ensure all production activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Company quality standards.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Plant Supervisor or Management.
Requirements:
- A minimum of OND, HND, or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Building Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field is an added advantage.
- A minimum of 3–5 years' experience operating a concrete batching plant, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior operator role.
- Strong knowledge of computerized batching plant systems and concrete production processes.
- Good understanding of concrete mix designs, quality control procedures, and batching accuracy.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot basic plant and equipment faults.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Good record-keeping and reporting skills.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.
