Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and supervise the safe and efficient use of concrete pump units in accordance with Company procedures and site requirements.
  • Set up, position, stabilize, and prepare the concrete pump for safe operation before each concrete pour.
  • Conduct comprehensive pre-operation inspections to ensure the pump and all safety systems are in good working condition before use.
  • Monitor pump performance, pressure, and concrete flow throughout each operation to ensure efficient and uninterrupted pumping.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and safely resolve pipeline blockages and operational issues in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Coordinate pumping activities with mixer truck drivers, site personnel, and the construction team to ensure continuous and efficient concrete placement.
  • Perform post-operation cleaning of the pump, pipelines, and associated equipment, ensuring the unit is clean and ready for the next operation.
  • Maintain accurate records of pump operations, equipment inspections, maintenance observations, and production activities.
  • Supervise Pump Operators, Pump Assistants, and Trainees, ensuring adherence to Company procedures and safe work practices.
  • Train, coach, and mentor junior operators to improve technical competence and operational performance.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate stock of essential pump consumables and spare parts, reporting replenishment needs promptly.
  • Enforce compliance with all Company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, including the use of PPE, exclusion zones, and safe boom operation.
  • Report equipment faults, hydraulic issues, safety incidents, and maintenance requirements immediately to the Fleet Supervisor and Head of Maintenance.
  • Ensure all pumping activities meet Company quality standards and client requirements.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Management.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of SSCE or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience operating concrete pump equipment, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Valid driver's licence (where applicable) and experience operating truck-mounted concrete pumps is an advantage.
  • Experience in the construction, ready-mix concrete, or manufacturing industry is preferred
