REGISTERED NURSE — NON-SURGICAL

• Responsibilities
• Triage and undertake comprehensive, accurate nursing assessment of presentations
• Manage acutely ill and injured patients in A&E and take appropriate action in resuscitation situations
• Maintain current, accurate and confidential documentation
• Contribute to individualised care planning, respecting patients’ right to make informed decisions
• Support out-patient consultations, treatments and minor procedures
• Maintain infection prevention and control standards at all times
• Provide nursing care according to plan and perform clinical procedures competently and safely
• Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognised institution.

Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Botswana with a valid practising certificate.

BLS/ACLS certification; acute/emergency or outpatient experience preferred.

• Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate
• Demonstrated ability to work within a team under pressure
• Excellent communication skills
• Post-basic qualification in emergency / critical-care or ambulatory nursing (desirable)
• IV cannulation and blood-sample collection certification (desirable)
