Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and budget forecasts for transmission line and substation projects.
  • Monitor project costs, evaluate variations, prepare interim valuations, and support cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review subcontractor quotations, negotiate commercial terms, and administer subcontract agreements.
  • Measure and certify completed works, verify contractor claims, and prepare payment certificates.
  • Monitor material quantities, procurement costs, and resource utilization to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Assist in contract administration, claims management, change orders, and dispute resolution in accordance with project contracts.
  • Prepare commercial reports, cost analyses, cash flow forecasts, and project financial updates for management.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, contractual requirements, company procedures, and applicable industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Higher National Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional Quantity Surveying experience, with mandatory experience on high-voltage power transmission line EPC projects.
  • Strong knowledge of quantity take-offs, cost estimation, BOQs, contract administration, and commercial management.
  • Experience managing variations, claims, subcontract administration, and project cost reporting.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC and other standard forms of construction contracts is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quantity surveying/cost management software.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work across project sites within Nigeria.


Working Conditions & Compensation:

  • As a Quantity Surveyor, you are required to have your own laptop/computer for daily work.
  • The company provides shared accommodation (2–3 people per room).
  • The company provides daily transportation between the accommodation and the workplace.
  • The company does not provide meals; however, a shared kitchen is available where employees can prepare their own meals.
  • Due to the tight project schedule, overtime (including weekdays and weekends) and short-term deployment to project sites may be required.
  • Overtime is paid in accordance with company policy. This role is therefore suitable only for candidates who are willing and able to work overtime when required.
