The Northern Land Council is seeking a proactive Project Officer – Sea Country to support projects that help Traditional Owners manage and protect their Sea Country. Working with the Sea Country Project Coordinator and Recreational Fishing Lead, you'll coordinate consultations, support project delivery and contribute to initiatives across recreational fishing, tourism, access and agreement management.

About the Role:

Working closely with the Sea Country Project Coordinator and Recreational Fishing Lead, you'll be the person who helps keep projects moving, ensures information is well managed and supports meaningful engagement between Traditional Owners, communities and stakeholders.

• Coordinate meetings, travel and logistics for consultations with Traditional Owners and other stakeholders.
• Provide project, operational and administrative support across Sea Country access, fishing and agreement-management activities.
• Maintain accurate records, project documentation and reports, and assist with program monitoring and compliance activities.
• Support remote fieldwork and prepare clear information and communication materials for communities and stakeholders.
• Help improve procedures, systems, templates and ways of working relevant to Aboriginal waters and Sea Country agreements.

You are an organised and proactive professional who enjoys coordinating projects and supporting people to achieve shared goals. You have strong communication skills, can juggle competing priorities and understand the importance of working respectfully with Aboriginal people and communities. Most importantly, you're someone who values collaboration, takes initiative and is motivated by work that makes a real difference.

In addition to this, you will have: -

• A relevant qualification and/or demonstrated experience in project support, administration, natural resource management, community development or a similar field.
• Strong cross-cultural communication skills and the ability to build productive, respectful relationships with Aboriginal people and communities, government agencies and industry stakeholders.
• Sound judgement, initiative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to organise competing tasks, meet deadlines and prepare clear reports for different audiences.
• Competence using Microsoft Office and records-management systems, plus a current C Class driver licence and willingness to travel remotely by manual 4WD vehicle or light aircraft.
• Knowledge of land rights, native title, fisheries or Sea Country management, and experience working with Traditional Owners, Aboriginal ranger groups or remote communities, will be highly regarded.

• A base salary of $86,257 per annum plus 15% superannuation and salary sacrificing up to $15,900 + Meal Entertainment and Holiday Accommodation benefit up to $2,650 per year.
• Other benefits under our Enterprise Agreement include: District allowance of up to $4,884 (DA2) per annum for individuals with dependents and $2,678 (DA1) without dependents. Generous leave provisions 5 weeks annual leave, 18 days personal leave; Paid Christmas close down; Upon completion of 12 months of service an Annual airfare with a net (in hand) value of $3,177;
