The organisation

Cire Services is an award-winning not-for-profit serving the diverse population of Melbourne's outer east. For more than fifty years, Cire has connected people of all ages and backgrounds with lifelong learning and support: early learning, community schooling, vocational training and community programs, from its home in the Yarra Ranges and now into the growth municipalities of Casey, Cardinia, Knox, Maroondah and soon to be Banyule.

The opportunity

Cire is appointing two Non-Executive Directors to a collaborative, skills-based Board at an important time in its evolution. New campuses are opening across the outer-eastern growth corridor, revenue is on a growth trajectory from around $50 million towards $80 million, and the next strategic plan will be shaped with the incoming directors at the table. The Board is seeking depth in growth and commercial judgement, AI, cyber and digital governance, and education and community services insight.

About you

• Collaborative and constructive. You engage respectfully, challenge constructively and commit to collective decision-making. You contribute to a psychologically safe Board culture that balances support for the executive with accountability, and build effective working relationships with fellow directors, the CEO and executive leadership team.
• An experienced director and/or executive leader. You bring strong governance judgement and a practical grasp of the distinction between governance and management.
• Commercially and strategically aware. You have guided organisations through growth or change, and bring sound judgement on capital, risk and pace.
• Digitally capable or deeply connected. You bring depth in AI, ICT, cyber or data governance, or credibility with government, funders and community partners.
• A genuine complement. You add something not already well represented and contribute to diversity of background, experience and thought.
• Values-led. You are motivated by Cire's mission and ready to commit to the Board's meeting cycle, a committee and a visible community presence.
