- Requirements
A Master’s Degree in one of the following advertised specialisation areas, or in a closely related field:
Cybersecurity: cybersecurity, information security, digital forensics, computer science, computer networks or a related field.
Financial Technology: financial technology, finance, information systems, data science, business analytics, computer science or a related field.
Electronic Engineering: electronic engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, computer systems engineering, telecommunications engineering, or a related field.
A teaching qualification, such as a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), or evidence of formal training in higher education teaching and assessment will be an added advantage.
Membership of a relevant and recognised professional body will be an added advantage.
BQA accreditation, or eligibility for accreditation with BQA or another recognised qualifications authority.
Relevant industry certification in the area of specialisation will be an added advantage.
At least four (4) years of post-qualification experience in the relevant discipline, preferably including tertiary teaching, curriculum development, assessment, research or industry practice.
Demonstrable ability to teach and supervise student projects in subjects aligned to the candidate’s area of specialisation:
Cybersecurity: information security, network security, cyber risk management, digital forensics, ethical hacking and secure software development.
Financial Technology: financial technology, digital banking and payments, blockchain and digital currencies, regulatory technology (RegTech), financial data analytics and AI/ML applications in finance.
Electronic Engineering: analogue and digital electronics, embedded systems and microcontrollers, signals and systems, electronic instrumentation and Internet of Things (IoT).
Additional knowledge of cloud technology, data science, data analytics, big data, algorithms and data structures and software engineering frameworks will be an added advantage.
