NURSING MATRON (DIRECTOR OF NURSING SERVICES)

• Responsibilities
• Lead and direct all nursing services and set nursing standards, policies and protocols
• Ensure safe staffing, skill mix, rostering and workforce planning across all clinical areas
• Drive quality, patient safety, infection prevention and control, and continuous-improvement programmes
• Oversee recruitment, development, performance management and discipline of nursing staff
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation (JCI-aligned) and professional requirements
• Manage the nursing budget, resources and supplies effectively
• Serve on the hospital management team and advise on clinical and operational matters
• Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; a post-graduate qualification in Nursing Management or Administration is required or highly desirable.

Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Botswana with a valid practising certificate.

• Minimum of 8 years’ nursing experience, including significant management experience
• Proven leadership of a nursing team or department
• Master’s degree in Nursing, Health Services Management or a related field (desirable)
• Experience in an accredited or JCI-aligned private hospital (desirable)
