Job Description
  • Responsibilities
  • Assess, triage, resuscitate and manage emergency and acutely ill or injured patients
  • Order and interpret investigations and initiate appropriate treatment
  • Perform emergency procedures within scope of competence
  • Admit, refer or discharge patients with clear documentation and handover
  • Liaise with specialists, wards, theatre and ambulance services
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement, morbidity review and clinical audit
  • Adhere to hospital clinical protocols and JCI-aligned standards
  • Requirements
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS/MBChB) or equivalent from a recognised institution
  • Current registration with the Botswana Health Professions Council (BHPC)
  • Completed internship and any required community service
  • Current ACLS/ATLS certification or willingness to obtain
  • Experience in emergency medicine or acute care (desirable)
  • Additional qualification or training in emergency medicine (desirable)
