MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST

• Responsibilities

Perform, analyse and validate laboratory tests across haematology, chemistry, microbiology and related disciplines

• Interpret, verify and authorise results within scope and escalate critical values
• Operate, calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot analysers and equipment
• Perform internal quality control and participate in external quality-assurance (EQA) programmes
• Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and biosafety standards
• Maintain accurate records and support laboratory accreditation and audits
• Supervise and mentor technicians and support staff where required
• Requirements
• Bachelor of Science / Medical Laboratory Science from a recognised institution
• Current registration with the Botswana Health Professions Council (BHPC)
• Proven experience as a medical laboratory scientist
• Competence across core laboratory disciplines and quality control
• Experience in an accredited laboratory (desirable)
• Specialist post-graduate qualification or discipline specialisation (desirable)
