Job Description

• $45–$90 per hour

• 100% remote

• Part-time

• Fully flexible schedule

Evaluate life sciences AI systems on your own schedule and help improve their scientific reasoning.

The AI systems shaping scientific research are trained and tested by real experts. The teams building them need life sciences research scientists who can create difficult, realistic questions, judge whether an AI's answers are scientifically sound, write the answer a specialist would give, and explain subtle errors the model has made. Your reviews help test whether scientific AI responses are accurate and well supported. This is that work, done remotely.

What you'll do

• Write difficult wet-lab and computational biology questions that have clear, checkable answers

• Assess AI-generated scientific answers for accuracy, rigor and the depth of their reasoning

• Build scoring rubrics and expert reference answers supported by primary literature and established methods

• Judge experiments, analysis pipelines and interpretations, explain each decision clearly and take part in feedback and peer review

Why this is worth your time

• Earn $45–$90 an hour while assessing AI-generated scientific answers and explaining subtle errors

• Work on AI systems that answer questions on genomics, single-cell and spatial omics, proteomics, structural biology and drug discovery, checking their reasoning and helping improve their scientific accuracy

• Apply your research judgment to evaluate how well AI systems handle real experimental design, analysis pipeline and translational research questions

• Fully remote and flexible, no fixed shifts, no commute

Who this is for

• A PhD in biology, molecular biology, genetics, genomics, biochemistry, bioinformatics, computational biology, immunology, neuroscience, microbiology, or a closely related life sciences field

• Hands-on research experience in an academic, institutional, or industry laboratory

• Professional written and spoken English at C1 level or higher

• Expert-level judgment of scientific claims, experimental designs, computational analyses, and interpretations

• Helpful background includes PCR or qPCR, cell culture, sequencing library preparation, Western blotting, protein purification, LC-MS sample preparation, or CRISPR workflows; postdoctoral, staff scientist, research faculty, or equivalent experience; and peer-reviewed publications, especially as a first or corresponding author.

• No AI experience needed. You bring the expertise; your scientific judgment helps evaluate and improve AI-generated scientific answers.

Pay and details

• $45–$90 per hour, paid hourly as an independent contractor

• Part-time, flexible schedule; fully remote, Canada
