About us

Wintringham is a specialised non-religious not-for-profit welfare organisation. We are committed to providing older people who are at risk or have experienced homelessness with a range of high-quality care, housing and services. We employ more than 1,000 staff across Victoria and Tasmania.

Your new role

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Housing & Homelessness Support, the HHS Manager Grampians is responsible for the leadership, performance and sustainability of Housing and Homelessness Services within the Grampians region. Operating within a place-based service delivery model, the role is responsible for overseeing complex client practice, service delivery, workforce capability, service quality, compliance, stakeholder engagement, and regional growth opportunities.

A key focus of the role is ensuring Housing and Homelessness Services are responsive, sustainable and aligned with Wintringham’s commitment to supporting older people who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. The role supports people to establish and sustain safe, stable housing, remain independent and age in place, with additional supports introduced as needed. Through Wintringham’s Sustaining Tenancies approach, the role promotes long-term housing stability through early intervention, coordinated support and strong partnerships across housing, health, aged care and community services. This is a full-time permanent role, located in Ballarat or Bendigo.

We are looking for candidates with the following

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Welfare, Community Services or related discipline. Demonstrated leadership experience within homelessness, housing, community services, or a related human services environment, including responsibility for service delivery, workforce management, and operational performance.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high performing teams, foster collaboration, accountability, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of homelessness, housing support, and broader community service systems, including contemporary practice approaches and person-centred service delivery.
  • Extensive experience supporting people with complex needs to maintain stable housing and age in place, through proactive risk identification and management, coordinated support and crisis responses, comprehensive assessment and care planning, cross-service collaboration, and the provision of expert guidance to support informed decision-making.
  • Demonstrated experience managing quality, compliance and risk, including contractual obligations, legislative requirements, incident management, and continuous improvement processes.

What we offer

  • This is a full-time permanent role, primarily based from our Ballarat office. Regular time in Ballarat will be required, however a Bendigo base may be considered for the right applicant. Competitive salary, depending on qualifications and experience, plus five weeks of annual leave with leave loading.
  • Access to exclusive not-for-profit salary packaging: salary package your personal expenses up to the amount of $15,900.
  • We are committed to offering an enjoyable, safe and flexible workplace that provides a work-life balance. We believe in giving our staff the skills they need and have an internal training program for all staff. We offer many growth opportunities and have a strong internal recruitment program.
