English Language and Literature Teachers Wanted

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Plan and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons aligned with the school curriculum and academic standards.
• Teach English Language and Literature to students in Upper Primary and Secondary School.
• Teach Primary School English classes when assigned.
• Prepare students for internal and external examinations.
• Develop students' reading, writing, speaking, listening, and analytical skills.
• Teach a range of literary texts, encouraging critical thinking and an appreciation of literature.
• Use a variety of teaching strategies to support students with different learning needs.
• Prepare and administer assignments, quizzes, tests, and examinations.
• Assess student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Monitor student progress and provide additional academic support where necessary.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date academic records.
• Create a positive, respectful, and well-managed classroom environment.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress when required.

Qualifications

Applicants must have:

• A university degree in English, English Language, English Literature, Linguistics, or a closely related field.
• Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
• Experience teaching Upper Primary and/or Secondary School students.
• Flexibility and willingness to teach Primary School classes when required.
• The ability to prepare students for internal and external examinations.
• A recognised teaching qualification is an advantage.
• Cambridge curriculum experience is highly desirable.
