Job Description
JOB TITLE BARISTA NATURE OF JOB FULL TIME INDUSTRY HOSPITALITY SALARY USD 250 (3-MONTH PROBATION) JOB LOCATION HARGEISA, SOMALILAND
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Coffee preparation:
  • Prepare espresso-based drinks (cappuccinos, lattes, macchiatos, americanos, etc.) with consistency in flavor and presentation.
  • Grind, dose, and tamp coffee accurately to maintain quality standards.
  • Experiment with brewing methods (pour-over, French press, AeroPress) when required.
Latte art:
  • Produce creative and visually appealing latte art to enhance customer experience.
  • Maintain precision and consistency in milk steaming and texturing.
  • Machine operation:
  • Operate espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct routine cleaning, calibration, and minor troubleshooting of machines.
  • Report technical issues promptly to management.

Customer service:
  • Greet customers warmly and take orders accurately.
  • Provide recommendations on beverage options and explain menu items.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and resolve issues quickly.

Workplace hygiene:
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and serving areas.
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Ensure proper storage of coffee beans, milk, and other ingredients.

Inventory management:
  • Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and consumables.
  • Assist in ordering supplies and minimizing wastage.
  • Track daily usage and report shortages to supervisors.

Team collaboration:
  • Work closely with fellow baristas and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Support colleagues during peak hours and share responsibilities.
  • Participate in training sessions and contribute to team improvement.

Professional conduct:
  • Maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance in line with company standards.
  • Uphold punctuality and reliability in attendance.
  • Represent the brand positively through attitude and service quality.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
  • Certificate in Barista Training, Hospitality, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in coffee brewing and latte art.
  • Strong knowledge of espresso-based beverages and coffee machine operation.
  • Must hold a valid passport.
  • Professional appearance, well-groomed, and able to work under pressure.
