Job title: Trade Finance Manager – Logistics
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Employment Type: Permanent
Travel: Frequent travel across Africa, with periodic international travel
Reporting To: Group CFO & Supply Chain Alliance Management
Eligibility: Kenyan nationals only

About the Role
Our client is a growing Supply Chain Alliance combining global expertise in logistics, international supply chains, trade finance, commodity management, and risk management.
We are seeking an ambitious and results-driven Finance Manager to provide strategic financial leadership and support business growth across Africa.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic financial advice on profitability, pricing, working capital, risk, and business expansion.
• Oversee trade finance activities, including Letters of Credit, guarantees, documentary collections, and structured trade finance.
• Manage treasury, cash flow, liquidity, working capital, and funding requirements.
• Monitor and manage FX, commodity, and counterparty risks and support hedging strategies.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and profitability analysis.
• Oversee accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and financial close.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax, regulatory, and internal control requirements.
• Develop scalable finance processes, systems, reporting, and automation across multiple countries.
• Manage internal and external audits and strengthen governance frameworks.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while partnering with commercial, logistics, and supply chain functions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Master’s degree/MBA and professional accounting or finance certification are an advantage.
• 8–10 years’ senior finance/accounting experience within logistics industry.
• Strong knowledge of trade finance, IFRS, treasury, cash management, and financial reporting.
• Experience with cross-border taxation, regulatory environments, and financial systems.
• Understanding of FX, hedging, commodity pricing, and supply chain finance is an advantage.
• Advanced Excel, strong analytical, strategic, leadership, and communication skills.
Technical Expertise
Strong knowledge of:
• Trade finance instruments
• IFRS and financial reporting
• Treasury and cash management
• Cross-border taxation and regulatory environments
Good understanding of:
• Foreign exchange markets and hedging
• Commodity trading mechanisms
• Supply chain financing
• ERP and financial reporting systems
