- Responsibilities
Oversees both electronic and paper based patient records, ensuring they are complete, accurate and up to date.
Maintaining patient privacy and ensuring records comply with set standards.
Supervise Medical records staff.
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of records, participates in audits, quality improvement activities and accreditation processes and generates reports,
Manage electronic health records systems, update technology as needed and facilitate the transition from paper to digital records. Troubleshoot system issues and ensure proper scanning and data entry.
Managing and responding to requests from stakeholders for decision making.
Train staff on proper records management procedures, medical coding etc.
- Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Medical Records or Health Information systems/Management
Strong organisational analytical and time management skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology and health care procedures and quality standards.
Proficiency in Electronic Health Records and basic computer applications.
A minimum of (2) years satisfactorily service as Medical Records Officer or Health Information systems or Management.
