- Responsibilities
To make visual observation of meteorological parameters laid down by World Meteorological Organization procedures.
To issue routine meteorological reports and forward to end users.
To encode observed meteorological data into standard formats.
To perform basic quality control on meteorological data.
To file meteorological journals.
To launch weather balloon for upper air observations.
To write brief remarks of significant weather developments at the station during and at the end of the shift.
To maintain a station logbook to record all occurrences such as power failure, unserviceable instruments, time of commencement and ending of shift.
To perform minor maintenance of instruments at the station to ensure that readings are obtained.
- Requirements
World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) Class IV course in Meteorology or produce other evidence of successful initial training, in any of the functional areas deemed equivalent to WMO Class IV
