The Public Relations Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic communication initiatives that enhance and protect the organization's reputation. The role oversees media relations, corporate communications, public engagement, crisis communication, brand positioning, and stakeholder relationship management. The Public Relations Manager ensures consistent messaging across all communication channels while strengthening the organization's public image and supporting business objectives.
- Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive public relations and corporate communication strategies.
Build and maintain strong relationships with media houses, journalists, influencers, and key stakeholders.
Prepare and distribute press releases, media statements, newsletters, speeches, and other communication materials.
Coordinate press conferences, media interviews, public events, and corporate functions.
Monitor media coverage and manage the organization's public image and reputation.
Develop crisis communication plans and manage communication during emergencies or sensitive situations.
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure consistent corporate messaging.
Manage the organization's social responsibility (CSR) communication initiatives.
Oversee content development for the company's website, newsletters, social media, and other communication platforms.
Track and analyze the effectiveness of public relations campaigns and provide recommendations for improvement.
Represent the organization during public engagements and networking events.
Ensure all communications align with the organization's values, policies, and brand guidelines.
Manage external public relations agencies and communication service providers where applicable.
- Qualifications
Master's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Mass Communication, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional certification in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, or Marketing is an added advantage.
- Experience
- Minimum of
- 7–12 years
of progressive experience in public relations, corporate communications, media relations, or stakeholder engagement.
Experience managing corporate reputation and media engagement within a reputable organization is preferred.
