  • SOS Children’s Villages Malawi is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for
  • two Project Intern positions
  • to support the implementation of the
  • Family Strengthening Programme in Chikwawa District

.

The internship provides an opportunity for candidates to gain practical experience in project implementation, community engagement, data management, monitoring, and supporting vulnerable children, youth, and families.

Successful candidates will support project activities aimed at strengthening families and community systems to improve child protection, education, health, and economic empowerment outcomes.

Note:

  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in planning and implementing community-based project activities.

Support organisation and facilitation of community trainings, meetings, awareness campaigns, and dialogues.

Conduct home visits to enrolled families and identify family needs.

Support mentorship of families in implementing Family Development Plans.

Assist in developing and implementing Family Development Plans under guidance from the Project Officer.

Support data collection, entry, and updating of programme databases.

Maintain proper filing and documentation of project records.

Prepare activity reports showing progress of different activities.

Support monitoring of project activities and beneficiary support.

Follow SOS Children’s Villages Malawi’s code of conduct, child safeguarding policies, and other organisational policies.

Perform any other duties assigned by the Field Officer.

  • QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Education

Applicants should have:

Bachelor’s Degree in:

  • Community Development
  • Development Studies
  • Social Science
  • Social Work
  • Agriculture

Or any related Social Sciences field from a recognised institution.

Advanced Diploma holders from recognised institutions may also be considered.

  • SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Good communication and reporting skills.

Computer literacy.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Ability to engage with communities and vulnerable families.

Commitment to child protection and safeguarding principles.

Willingness to learn and gain practical project management experience.
