Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC) is the premier provider of housing and ancillary services in Malawi, established by Malawi Housing Act of 1964 (cap. 32.02). Our mandate is to construct houses, develop plots, and maintain existing properties. in December 2016, the act was amended to allow the Corporation to operate as a commercial entity, expanding our role in providing decent and affordable housing.
We are seeking highly qualified and experienced professionals to fill the following key positions. Ideal candidates should possess a strong combination of academic excellence, professional certifications, proven experience, and the specific competencies required to drive our strategic objectives.
- POSITION: PROCUREMENT AND DISPOSAL OFFICER
- GRADE: HC 7
- REPORTING TO: PRINCIPAL PROCUREMENT AND DISPOSAL OFFICER
- LOCATION: HEAD OFFICE – BLANTYRE
- KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Implementing, reviewing and monitoring procurement and supply policies, strategies, annual procurement and disposal work plans and budget.
Preparing Tender Documents, pre-qualification and contract documents and administering procurement contracts.
Preparation of Procurement Notices for advertisement with the media.
Preparing bid evaluation reports.
Coordinating inspection of goods and equipment supplied.
Following up with stores section and user departments on the compilation and submission of items for disposal consolidation.
- Acting as a Secretary of the Board of Survey Committee
- Allocating work and appraising staff
- Requirements
- QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics, Business Administration or CIPS Professional (Graduate Diploma)
Minimum of Two (2) years experience in Procurement and Supply Chain Management in a Busy Organisation.

Knowledge of Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Act (2025), Procurement Regulations and Desk Instructions
- Honesty and Integrity
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- ICT Skills
Good negotiation and communication.
