Mulanje Mission Hospital (MMH), a Christian mission hospital under the CCAP Blantyre Synod Health Services Department, is seeking an experienced and strategically minded
- Principal Hospital Administrator
.
- ABOUT THE ROLE
The Principal Hospital Administrator (PHA) reports to the Medical Director and is a member of management.
The PHA focuses primarily on external relations, financial strategy, business operations, and legal and regulatory affairs, while overseeing the Administrative Officer who manages day-to-day internal operations.
The PHA directly supervises:
- IT Officer
- Biomedical Engineer
- Head of Maintenance
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure sound governance, checks and balances, and accurate documentation.
Manage the Administration Department, including annual appraisals and capacity building.
Ensure reliable infrastructure, utilities, and equipment through the IT Officer, Biomedical Engineer, and Head of Maintenance.
Supervise the Administrative Officer responsible for security, transport, procurement, and ground works.
Lead the hospital’s financial strategy and sustainability, including donor relations, budgeting, and banking relationships.
Grow business and commercial operations, including occupational health contracts and Likuni Phala factory.
Represent MMH on legal, regulatory, and public affairs.

- REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s degree in
- Business
Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. A background in law, finance, or engineering is an added advantage.
- At least
- five years
of relevant experience.
Demonstrated ability to lead financial strategy, manage legal and regulatory matters, and directly oversee technical staff.
Demonstrated commitment to uphold and promote Christian mission and values.
Strong communication, self-starter, and team-builder.
Excellent computer literacy (MS Excel, PowerPoint, AI tools, Sage, etc.).
