Job Description
Responsibilities:
Driver and Financial Oversight:
- Ensure all drivers are up to date with financial obligations to the company
- Implement and monitor systems to track driver payments and outstanding balances
- Work closely with bus coordinators to follow up on defaults
Repossession Management:
- Oversee and execute the repossession of buses in line with company policies and procedures
- Maintain a fair but firm approach in repossession cases, prioritizing asset recovery and documentation
Legal and Law Enforcement Liaison:
- Act as the key point of contact for legal matters related to drivers and leased vehicles
- Collaborate with the company’s legal team on cases involving breach of contract, defaults, or asset recovery
- Liaise with law enforcement authorities and provide necessary support in cases involving police or court intervention
- Ensure all legal processes are properly documented and followed
Vehicle Import & Quality Control:
- Coordinate with import partners to schedule timely pickup of newly imported buses
- Conduct thorough inspections of all vehicles upon arrival to confirm their condition and roadworthiness
- Coordinate and communicate with site manager to ensure condition of bus before given to new driver
Operational Coordination & Reporting:
- Develop and implement operational procedures to optimize fleet performance and reduce risks
- Maintain accurate records of all vehicle handovers, repossessions, and legal interactions
- Prepare regular reports for senior management on operational performance, incidents, and compliance
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transport Management, Logistics, or related field
- Proven experience in fleet operations, logistics, or transport management (experience in a leasing company is a strong advantage)
- Solid understanding of vehicle repossession procedures and legal compliance
- Experience working with law enforcement and legal teams
- Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive situations with discretion
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fleet management software
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel when needed
- Experience in the automotive or public transport industry
- Knowledge of local transport regulations and commercial vehicle operations
