Job Description

What We Are Looking For

• 5+ years in business development, corporate sales or field marketing, with a personal target you were measured against — ideally in pharmaceuticals, medical insurance, diagnostics, healthcare services or a comparable field-sales environment;

• Demonstrable record of originating new business yourself, not only servicing accounts you were handed. You should be able to name accounts you personally opened;

• Working knowledge of the Kenyan corporate health landscape — group medical schemes, insurers and brokers, DOSH occupational health requirements — or the ability to learn it fast;

• Polished spoken and written English; fluent Kiswahili. Mandarin Chinese is a strong advantage for the Upper Hill position;

• Comfortable with numbers and disciplined about pipeline: able to quote a contract, forecast a month, and keep records that management can rely on;

• Degree or diploma in marketing, business, communications or a health-related field;

• Self-directed and resilient in the field, with a valid driving licence an advantage, and a clean record on conduct with verifiable references from previous sales managers.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate business development

• Build and work a pipeline of corporate prospects in the branch catchment — manufacturers, logistics firms, schools, hotels, SMEs and institutions;

• Originate, negotiate and close contracts for staff health screening, occupational health (DOSH), food handler certification and corporate outpatient services;

• Maintain and grow existing corporate accounts: renewal management, annual screening calendars and upselling of additional services;

• Coordinate on-site corporate screening events end to end, working with clinical and front office teams;

Insurance & intermediary relationships

• Support empanelment applications with insurers and TPAs, and maintain working relationships with brokers and agents in the catchment;

• Drive patient volume through empanelled schemes and resolve service issues raised by intermediaries;

Community marketing & brand

• Plan and execute local activations, camps, outreach events and partnerships with community groups, churches, schools and estates;

• Manage branch-level offline marketing — flyers, posters, local signage — and support central digital campaigns with local content;

• Build a structured referral programme; word of mouth is our highest-converting and lowest-cost channel and must be actively cultivated, not left to chance;

Conversion & reporting

• Follow up screening and camp attendees to convert them into repeat outpatient and diagnostic clients;

• Maintain an accurate pipeline record and submit weekly activity and pipeline reports;

• Track acquisition by source for every campaign and event, and report cost per acquisition — not reach or impressions — to management.
