Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and tender documents.
  • Carry out quantity take-offs from construction drawings and specifications.
  • Support the monitoring of project costs and preparation of cost reports.
  • Assist in evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Prepare interim valuations, payment applications, and final account documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations, and material usage.
  • Conduct site visits to measure completed work and verify quantities.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Assist in reviewing contracts and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Perform other quantity surveying duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 1–3 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying within the civil construction industry.
  • Good understanding of quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and construction contracts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, PlanSwift, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Membership or progress toward membership with the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) is an added advantage
