The Junior Accountant will provide and perform duties to support shipping and receiving, deliveries, coordinating stock, documenting warehouse transactions, maintaining inventory and stock records and performs related work as required.
Job Summary:
The Junior Accountant will provide and perform duties to support shipping and receiving, deliveries, coordinating stock, documenting warehouse transactions, maintaining inventory and stock records and performs related work as required. The goal is to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the inventory function in compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures to deliver maximum value to the organization.
Job Responsibilities:
Plan, execute and oversee the monthly and quarterly stock count to ensure all variances are investigated and adjusted within 3 working days on completing the stock count in accordance with Blue Books Policy.
Review of all Inventory Adjustments on a monthly basis, ensuring >99% accuracy and timeliness of postings.
Review and ensure Inventory Subledger to GL is reconciled with zero variances by the 3rd working day of the following month. There should be no negative inventory balances and maintain overall accuracy of inventory.
Projections for next 3 months’ provisions must be completed by 4th working day of the following month. This listing must be circulated to the relevant teams and must lead and drive the exercise to ensure provisions are avoided by operations and marketing team.
All Inventory reporting are to be done by 3rd working day of the following month ensuring all system quantities are in alignment with actual quantities by continuous monitoring of ALL inventory levels.
Ensure revaluations for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods are completed by 3rd working day of every month.
- Observe and make recommendations for system and procedural improvements on inventory control
Prepares daily processing of financial transactions to ensure that the company’s financial records are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner.
- Assist with preparation of monthly financial reports
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Assist with preparation and coordination of internal and external audit process
Comply and perform all duties in conformance with the Company’s/Department’s strategies along with the Quality Management System as it relates to health, safety, security and environmental policies and procedures.
Perform any other related job duties as required by the job function that may be assigned by the CFO.
Qualification and Experience Requirements:
At least four (4) years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Working experience with a Financial Accounting package would be an asset.
And / Or two (2) years working experience in the same or similar position.
