• Classification: SCHADS Level 4with a salary range of $92,378 - $99,393 per annum + Superannuation

About your new role

The Community Care Coordinator - Lived Experience (CCC-LE) draws on their own lived experience of distress, crisis, suicidality and/or suicide attempt and journey of healing to instil confidence and hope in others.

Guided by Intentional Peer Support (IPS) principles and the National Lived Experience Workforce Guidelines, CCC-LEs provide person-led emotional, social, and service support to people after a suicide attempt or experience of distress/suicidal crisis through short term, one on one, flexible psychosocial support and care coordination through assertive outreach. Support includes coordinating care with consumers, families and external stakeholders to navigate systems, services, and connection with supports available to them. CCC-LEs will build and maintain relationships with a number of stakeholders and community partners to facilitate holistic care for people accessing the service.

What you will bring to the role

• Personal lived/living experience of distress, crisis, suicidality and/or suicide attempt and journey of healing and ability to apply learnings as your primary way of working
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with partner agencies and organisations to strengthen community-based prevention and intervention initiatives.
• Strong emotional resilience including the ability to sit with discomfort, distress and people in crisis.
• Experience (personal or professional) liaising with external service providers, including specialist mental health services, GP's and other community-based services and organisations.
• Sound understanding of the personal, family, and social factors associated with suicidal ideation and attempts, including awareness of groups identified to be at increased risk of suicide
• National Criminal History Check (police check) - disclosable outcomes considered
• Current Working with Children Check
• Australian working rights
• A valid driver's licence

Desired

• Intentional Peer Support core training, Cert IV Mental Health Peer Work, Hearing Voices training, or similar.
• Previous experience in a designated Lived Experience role.
