NBS Bank Plc, one of the leading commercial banks in Malawi, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacant position tenable at the Bank’s Head Office at Ginnery Corner in Blantyre.
- CARD BUSINESS MANAGER
- Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Digital Banking, the job older provides strategic and operational leadership for the Bank’s Card Business by driving card sales, transaction growth, merchant acquiring, product development, operational excellence, risk management, compliance and customer experience in line with the Digital Banking Strategy.
- Summary of key Responsibilities
Drives growth in card sales, usage, transaction volumes and value across credit, debit and prepaid card products
Develops and manages business opportunities with cardholders, merchants and strategic partners.
Leads product and business development initiatives, including new card products, value-added services, business requirements documentation and user acceptance testing.
Oversees card operations, including card ordering, production, limits, cancellations, PIN management, disputes, chargebacks and refunds.
Manages merchant engagements, service provider relationships, contracts and service level agreements.
Monitors competitor pricing, market trends, card risk profile, operational losses and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Provides leadership, coaching, performance management and supervision to the Card Business team.
Champions compliance requirements for Card business ensuring end to end compliance to regulatory requirements forCard business
Prepares and submits operational and management reports around Card Business.
- Requirements
- Qualifications, Experience and Competences
Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields: Business Management, Finance, Economics, Computer Sciences from a recognised Institution.
Possession of Digital Finance certification is desirable.
Four (4) years experience in banking, digital or card business operations in a similar environment.
Strong commercial orientation with ability to achieve sales, revenue, risk and service quality targets.
Ability to engage, negotiate and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Membership with relevant professional bodies such as the Digital Finance Institute or ICTAM will be an added advantage.
Excellent planning, organising, analytical and problem-solving skills.
High levels of ethical standards and integrity.
