Position: Associate Software Engineer (Java Programmer)

Job Summary

The Associate Software Engineer (Java Programmer) supports Neptune’s enterprise and mobile development initiatives by designing, developing, testing, and maintaining highquality software solutions. The role is ideal for recent graduates or earlycareer professionals passionate about building scalable applications, APIs, and mobile solutions within a collaborative engineering environment.

Role Overview

The Associate Software Engineer contributes to the full software development lifecycle, working closely with senior engineers to deliver secure, reliable, and highperformance applications. They participate in backend development, mobile application development, API integration, and production support while continuously learning and adopting modern technologies and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development

· Design, develop, test, and maintain Javabased enterprise applications

· Build RESTful APIs and backend services

· Develop and maintain crossplatform mobile applications using Flutter

Software Development Lifecycle

· Participate in SDLC activities including design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance

· Write clean, maintainable, and welldocumented code

· Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions

Integration & Performance

· Integrate applications with databases, thirdparty systems, and payment platforms

· Develop secure, scalable, and highperformance software solutions

· Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects

Continuous Improvement

· Support software deployment and production issue resolution

· Research and adopt new technologies, frameworks, and best practices

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields

Experience

Recent graduate or up to 2 years of software development experience

Technical Skills

Backend Development

· Java (Java SE/EE)

· Spring Boot / Spring Framework

· RESTful APIs

· Microservices Architecture

· JSON & XML

· Maven or Gradle

Mobile Application Development

· Flutter (Dart)

· Android (Java/Kotlin)

· Mobile UI/UX principles

· Mobile app integration with REST APIs

Database Technologies

· Oracle Database

· PostgreSQL

· MySQL

· SQL & PL/SQL

Web Technologies

· HTML5

· CSS3

· JavaScript

· React or Angular (advantageous)

Tools & Platforms

· Git

· Docker (advantageous)

· Linux/Unix

· IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, Android Studio, VS Code

Desirable Skills

· Knowledge of enterprise application integration

· Familiarity with cloud platforms

· Understanding of secure software development practices

· Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies

· Experience with payment systems, APIs, or financial applications
