Assistant Curator II (History) – 5 Positions at National Museum of Tanzania (NMT)

The Assistant Curator II (History) will be responsible for supporting museum collection management, exhibitions, and related curatorial activities. Specific duties include:

• Ensuring cleanliness of museum collections.
• Taking care of special collections.
• Assisting in the preparation of fieldwork trips.
• Assisting curators in identifying and registering exhibition collections.
• Inspecting incoming and outgoing collections.
• Executing the installation of exhibitions.
• Preparing and distributing exhibition catalogues and displays.
• Preparing exhibition plans and reports.
• Preparing new designs and models for temporary exhibitions.
• Maintaining the workshop and its equipment.
• Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Applicants must be holders of a Diploma in History or Diploma in Education majoring in History from a recognized institution.

Remuneration

The successful candidates will be paid according to the PGSS 4 salary scale.
