SPECIFIC TASK
Duties & Responsibilities
Safe Transportation
(a) The Driver will be responsible for safely operating the Cine Bus and Mobile Van to support the delivery of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Family Planning services to hard-to-reach and underserved communities. The role includes ensuring vehicle safety, supporting outreach activities, and maintaining the vehicle in good working condition.
(b) Drive the Cine Bus/Mobile Van to designated outreach locations in Dodoma and Kigoma.
(c) Ensure the safety of staff, clients, and equipment during transportation.
(d) Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and organizational transport.
Vehicle Maintenance and Management
(a) Conduct daily vehicle inspections (fuel, oil, tires, brakes, lights) before and after trips.
(b) Ensure the vehicle is clean, roadworthy, and properly maintained at all times.
(c) Report mechanical issues promptly and coordinate servicing and repairs.
(d) Maintain vehicle logbooks, fuel consumption records, and service schedules.
Support to Mobile Outreach Activitie
(a) Assist in setting up and packing outreach equipment and supplies.
(b) Support loading and offloading of medical equipment and commodities.
(c) Ensure the vehicle is positioned appropriately to facilitate service delivery.
(d) Provide basic logistical support during outreach sessions.
Health and Safety Compliance
(a) Ensure compliance with safety standards during travel and outreach activities.
(b) Support safe handling and transportation of medical supplies and waste where applicable.
(c) Adhere to infection prevention and control (IPC) measures when required.
Documentation and Reporting
(a) Maintain accurate vehicle movement records and submit reports as required.
(b) Report any incidents, accidents, or delays to the supervisor immediately.
Other duties
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Project Coordinator in line with the role.
Qualifications
QUALITIES
(a) Valid driving license (Class C or above).
(b) Experience driving in rural and hard-to-reach areas.
(c) Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
(d) Good knowledge of road safety regulations.
(e) Ability to work flexible hours, including travel to remote areas.
(f) Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and integrity.
(g) Good communication and teamwork skills.
EXPERIENCE
At least 3 years of proven driving experience, preferably with NGOs or health programs.
