Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill in the fixed term vacancies below.

SENIOR IP NETWORKS ENGINEER

Responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining Powertel’s IP network infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Performance Areas

* Design and support enterprise IP networks.* Deploy and manage Cisco SD-WAN environments.* Support wholesale Internet, IP Transit and Dedicated Internet Access services.* Manage IP routing, MPLS, BGP and OSPF.* Configure and maintain firewalls, access control lists and DDoS mitigation.* Support DWDM optical fibre backbone and transport infrastructure.

Qualifications and Experience

* Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science or related field.* Registration with ZIE or recognised professional body.* Valid Class 4 Driver’s Licence.* CCNP Enterprise or Service Provider certification preferred.* Cisco SD-WAN certification is an advantage.* Experience with Cisco routers, switches and networking protocols including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS and MPLS.* Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix, Cisco vManage and Wireshark.

* Analytical and problem-solving skills.* Complex troubleshooting skills.* Ability to work under pressure.* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
