About the Role
Penrith Women’s Health Centre (PWHC) is seeking an experienced and compassionate Massage Therapist to join our team on a part time or casual basis. Based at our welcoming centre in the heart of Penrith, this role offers weekday work only, with no evening or weekend shifts.
At PWHC, massage therapy is more than a relaxation service. It forms part of our holistic approach to supporting women's health and wellbeing. Our massage services assist women experiencing chronic pain, chronic health conditions, stress and anxiety, while also promoting self-care, resilience and overall wellbeing. Services are designed to improve both physical and emotional health outcomes and enhance quality of life. PWHC is committed to ensuring equitable access to health services for women who may experience disadvantage or barriers to care. Our massage therapy program particularly supports women experiencing stress, anxiety and musculoskeletal concerns, as well as women navigating complex social, health or life circumstances. All services at PWHC are delivered within a client-centred, trauma-informed and culturally safe framework. We work from a feminist health promotion philosophy that values respect, empowerment, inclusion and the diverse experiences of women.
The successful applicant will provide appointment-based massage therapy services from our Penrith centre and may also have opportunities to participate in community outreach activities, including health promotion events, short wellbeing massage sessions and baby massage workshops.
Essential Criteria
PWHC considers being a woman a genuine occupational qualification for this position under Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act.
We are seeking a qualified Massage Therapist who can demonstrate:
- A Certificate or Diploma qualification in Massage Therapy.
- At least two years' experience providing massage therapy services.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and client-centred practice.
- The ability to provide culturally safe and inclusive services to women from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries.
- The ability to work independently, manage appointments and prioritise competing demands.
- A commitment to feminist values and women's health principles.
- A current Working With Children Check and National Police Check, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement of employment.
Desirable Criteria
- Certificate in Infant/Baby Massage or willingness to obtain
- Private Health Fund Provider Number or eligibility to obtain
What you'll bring
You will be a qualified Massage Therapist who is passionate about supporting women's health and wellbeing. You will have experience delivering high-quality massage therapy services and be confident working independently within a multidisciplinary community health setting. You will understand trauma-informed and client-centred practice, value diversity and inclusion, and be committed to providing services that are safe, respectful and empowering for women from all backgrounds. A sound understanding of feminist principles and women's health is highly desirable.

- Classification: Health and Support Services Award (HSSA) Level 2.1
- Employment Type: Part-time or casual hours negotiable up to 20 hours per week
