Job Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate production machines and equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal efficiency.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults, carrying out minor repairs where required.
  • Report major equipment failures and coordinate with the maintenance team for timely repairs.
  • Ensure machines are properly set up before production runs.
  • Monitor product quality during production and make adjustments to maintain specifications.
  • Maintain accurate production, maintenance, and downtime records.
  • Keep workstations and machinery clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Adhere to company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies at all times.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors and other technicians to achieve production targets.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Machine Operator, Mechanical Technician, or in a similar manufacturing environment.

Required Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and industrial machinery.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical equipment issues.
  • Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and machine specifications.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
