Objectives and Purpose of the Job:
To safely and efficiently load 50lb – 100lb flour and cornmeal products into export containers while ensuring product integrity, loading accuracy, food safety compliance, and adherence to export schedules.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- General Responsibilities
Contribute to and maintain a safe, healthy, and secure working environment.
Demonstrate commitment to occupational safety, health, and environmental standards by complying with all JGC policies and procedures.
Support and continuously improve JGC's Food Safety and Quality Management System.
Maintain 5S standards within the Finished Goods Warehouse and all assigned work areas.
- Container Preparation
Inspect export containers to ensure they are clean, dry, odor-free, structurally sound, and suitable for food-grade products.
Report damaged, contaminated, or unsuitable containers to the supervisor before loading begins.
Prepare pallets, loading materials, and equipment required for safe and efficient loading operations.
- Loading Operations
Manually load bagged flour and cornmeal products into export containers according to approved loading plans and customer requirements.
Stack products securely to maximize container utilization while preventing product damageduring transportation.
Handle all products carefully to preserve packaging integrity and prevent contamination.
Follow loading instructions for product sequence, pallet configuration, and proper weight distribution.
Assist forklift operators with pallet movement and loading activities as required.
Assist with loading & unloading of containers for local sales and ensuring products packed properly to prevent damages during transit.
- Product Verification
Verify product descriptions, bag sizes, quantities, batch numbers, and pallet counts beforeloading.
Immediately report shortages, damaged products, or any discrepancies to the supervisor.
Ensure only approved products meeting export requirements are loaded into containers.
- Housekeeping and Safety
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free loading area throughout all operations.
Comply with all company Health & Safety policies and safe manual handling procedures.
Wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
Promptly report unsafe conditions, accidents, incidents, or near misses.
- Food Safety and Quality
Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Warehouse Practices (GWP), HACCP, and all applicable food safety and quality standards.
Prevent product contamination during all loading activities.
Ensure products remain clean, dry, secure, and free from damage throughout the loading process.
Report any food safety or quality concerns immediately to the supervisor.
Academic/Technical/Management: Experience and Qualifications:
Secondary school education or equivalent.
Formal warehouse or logistics training is an asset.
Abilities; Skills; Experience; Aptitude and Judgement:
- Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift between 50lb - 100lb cornmeal and flour products
Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics experience preferred.
Experience handling bagged food products is an advantage.
