Interim Litigation Attorney — Washington Licensed

Part-Time | 3–6 Month Engagement | $125–$175 per Hour

We are seeking an experienced Washington-licensed litigation attorney to provide interim support for depositions, court hearings, and mediations over the next three to six months.

The anticipated workload is approximately five to eight total events per month, combined across depositions, hearings, and mediations, plus the preparation and follow-up associated with each assignment.

Candidates do not need to be based in Seattle but must be willing and able to travel to in-person proceedings in Washington when required. Preparation and other work may be completed remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Take and defend depositions, including preparing clients and witnesses.
  • Attend court hearings and present oral argument on assigned matters.
  • Represent clients at mediations and participate in settlement negotiations within authorized parameters.
  • Review relevant case materials and coordinate with the handling attorney before each event.
  • Provide timely written summaries of outcomes, recommendations, and required follow-up.
  • Maintain clear communication with the legal team regarding scheduling, deadlines, and case developments.

Qualifications

  • Active Washington State Bar license in good standing.
  • Demonstrated experience independently handling depositions, hearings, and mediations.
  • Strong litigation judgment, preparation, advocacy, and negotiation skills.
  • Personal injury litigation experience preferred.
  • Ability to commit to scheduled assignments throughout a three to six month engagement.
  • Willingness to travel for in-person proceedings as needed.

Compensation and Schedule

  • $125–$175 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Paid time for agreed-upon case preparation, attendance, and substantive follow-up.
  • Travel time compensation and reimbursement of approved travel expenses will be established before assignments begin.
  • Approximately five to eight total events per month; scheduling and hours will vary based on the proceedings assigned.

Please submit your résumé, Washington bar number, current location, availability, and a brief description of your experience handling depositions, hearings, and mediations. Include your preferred hourly rate and any travel limitations.
