Job Description
Responsibilities:
Health & Safety Management:
- Conduct daily safety inspections of the floating dock, workshops, vessels, and work sites.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and statutory regulations.
- Monitor and enforce the use of PPE.
- Lead safety briefings.
- Participate in risk assessments and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Investigate incidents, near misses, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
- Track corrective and preventive actions until closure.
- Maintain safety statistics and performance indicators.
Permit to Work Administration:
- Administer and monitor Permit-to-Work systems including: Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, Work at Height, Electrical Isolation (LOTO), Lifting Operations
- Verify atmospheric testing requirements before confined space entry.
- Ensure permits are properly completed and closed.
Floating Dock & Marine Operations:
- Monitor docking and undocking activities.
- Supervise safety during vessel repairs and maintenance.
- Ensure safe access arrangements between vessels and the dock.
- Monitor mooring operations and marine-related risks.
- Coordinate emergency response preparedness on the floating dock.
Fabrication & Workshop Safety:
- Supervise welding, cutting, grinding and fabrication activities.
- Monitor safe use of cranes, forklifts and lifting equipment.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of gas cylinders and hazardous materials.
- Verify compliance with fire prevention measures during hot work.
Emergency Response & First Aid:
- Act as a designated First Aider.
- Maintain first aid stations and emergency equipment.
- Participate in fire drills and emergency exercises.
- Coordinate emergency response until professional medical assistance arrives.
- Maintain emergency contact lists and evacuation procedures.
Environmental Compliance:
- Monitor waste segregation and disposal.
- Ensure proper handling of oils, chemicals and hazardous substances.
- Report environmental incidents and spills.
- Support environmental compliance audits.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain HSE records and documentation.
- Prepare weekly and monthly HSE reports.
- Track training records and certification validity.
- Maintain permit registers.
- Monitor PPE inventory and replenishment requirements.
- Prepare safety meeting minutes.
- Assist management during audits and inspections.
- Maintain contractor HSE files and documentation.
Requirements:
- Degree
- 3-5 years experience
