Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill in the following vacancies that have arisen within Makoni Rural District Council.

GIS GRADUATE TRAINEE

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

* Collection, processing and analysis of geospatial data using GIS software.* Digitising and geo-referencing spatial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.* Supporting the creation and maintenance of GIS databases while ensuring data integrity and accuracy.* Creating maps and other graphical representations of geographic data for council applications.* Conducting quality control checks on geospatial data and resolving discrepancies.* Contributing to the development of GIS technologies for field data collection.* Applying relevant regulations and policies regarding land use and spatial planning.* Managing GIS equipment and software to ensure they remain operational and up to date.* Assisting other departments with GIS mapping and analysis needs.

Qualifications and Experience

* Relevant Degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography or Geospatial Science.* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret spatial data.* Computer skills in ESRI, ArcGIS, QGIS or similar GIS applications.* Familiarity with GIS devices and field data collection techniques.* Must not be more than 25 years of age.
